Frequently Asked Questions
Why is the license OIT is offering so much more expensive than my existing Slack license?
The Slack license offered through OIT is based on Slack's Enterprise Grid platform, which includes advanced security, compliance, administration and collaboration capabilities beyond those available in standard Slack subscriptions.
The higher cost reflects access to enterprise-grade features, centralized campus support, and a university-wide agreement designed to meet institutional requirements for security, governance and scalability.
Can I migrate to Teams instead?
Yes. Microsoft Teams is included with CU Boulder's Microsoft 365 services and may meet the collaboration needs of many departments at no additional cost. See Microsoft Teams for more information.
