Service Maintenance Completed: Cisco AnyConnect VPN Upgrade

Description

The campus Cisco AnyConnect VPN service will undergo an update from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19. VPN services will not be interrupted during the update process; however, after this change users will be prompted to authenticate with Duo Multi-factor authentication for new VPN sessions.

Please Note: This change was originally scheduled for March 14 but was postponed due to the campus closure.

Impact

  • VPN service will undergo an update from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19. VPN services will not be interrupted during the update process; however, after this change users will be prompted to authenticate with DUO Multi-factor authentication whenever they use the service.
  • Linux users of OpenVPN or OpenConnect will need to use the Cisco AnyConnect client to use CU Boulder’s VPN.
  • If your department or unit utilizes a VPN that will be negatively affected by this change, please contact the IT Service Center at oithelp@colorado.edu
  • Always On VPN will not be impacted by this change.
