OIT can assist you in voice and video conferencing. To distinguish between the two: Video conferencing uses telecommunications of audio and video to bring people at different sites together for a meeting. This can be as simple as a conversation between two people in private offices (point-to-point) or involve several sites (multi-point) with more than one person in large rooms at different sites. Besides the audio and visual transmission of meeting activities, video conferencing can be used to share computer content.

It is important to differentiate video conferencing from a web conference, in which each participant sits at his or her own computer and is connected to other participants via the Internet. This can be either a downloaded application on each of the attendees' computers or a web-based application where the attendees access the meeting by clicking on a link distributed by e-mail (meeting invitation) to enter the conference.

A voice conference, or teleconference, is a multi-point conversation using a telephone, and has only auditory capabilities.
