Academic Technology

Last Updated: 04/13/2012
Overview:

Academic Technology, a unit within OIT and in service of the entire campus, provides support and services to further the teaching and learning mission of the CU-Boulder campus.

In addition to providing consultative support, training, and technology-enhanced learning spaces, the “A-Team” facilitates community and provides professional development opportunities for faculty, and other technology support units on campus, and engages in action-oriented research to help shape the campus’s IT environment and encourages the effective use of technology in teaching and learning.

Meet the A-Team.

Welcome to Academic Technology!

We’re thrilled, and quite pleased you came to vist. Check back often for project and research updates, and to join a community of faculty and staff interested in the possibilities at the nexus of technology, pedagogy and content knowledge. Click here for an overview of a model we use to describe what we do; come back for a future post on TPACK and the A-Team!

Introducing Desire 2 Learn!

Desire 2 Learn
(D2L) is CU-Boulder's new learning managment system for Fall 2011!
CU-Boulder Faculty have the option of choosing between CULearn and D2L for Fall Semester.

Please bookmark OIT's main website for all things D2L http://oit.colorado.edu/d2l

For additional information please follow these links

Briefly, D2L does everything CULearn does, but in a more intuitive way. The grading functions are easier to use, too. And there are features that CULearn doesn't have, like blogs and analytics that can help you assess how your students are learning.

To learn how to use D2L, talk to your Academic Technology Consultants. They'll get you access to the system, and, once you're in, there are tons of self-paced learning opportunities for you. We'll also be holding workshops throughout the fall semester.
