The instructions below demonstrate how to connect to the VPN service using native functionality for Mac OSX. However, due to security concerns and the need to reconfigure your connection in the future, OIT does not recommend using this ability, but rather recommends users connect using the Cisco AnyConnect client.
Open System Preferences.
Click the Network icon.
Click the + button.
From the Interface drop-down menu, select VPN.
From the VPN Type drop-down menu, select Cisco IPSec.
Type in a service name, then click the Create button.
Enter your CU Login Name and IdentiKey password.
Click the Authentication Settings button.
Enter in the Shared Secret and the Group Name, then click OK. To get this information go to the following URLs:
Click Connect (you may be prompted to apply changes, if so click Apply).
If prompted, re-enter your CU Login Name and IdentiKey credentials, then click OK. You will now be connected to the VPN.
Note: Connect in the future by selecting this VPN name from the left side Network menu.
