Microsoft Teams Calls - Configure Voicemail

Please note: This tutorial shows the voicemail configuration in the desktop app, but the process is the same in the browser version and similar on mobile.

Step

Open the Teams more options (...) menu in the top right corner and select Settings.

Step

In the Settings menu, select Calls then click Configure voicemail

Step

There are three options for voicemail greeting

  • Use system greeting: If you change nothing, Teams default message will play when someone reaches your voicemail.
  • Record a greeting: Allows you to record a greeting yourself.
  • Text-to-speech: This option allows you to type a message which will be heard when someone reaches your voicemail.

Step

Clicking Record a greeting, will begin a call that connects you to the recording system. Follow the prompts to record and save your greeting.

Step

If you prefer the Text-to-speech option, type your greeting in the Your custom greeting text box.

Step

You can also choose to have a greeting that plays when you're out of office, type that in the Your custom out of office greeting text box.

Step

If you type a message in that text box, be sure to select when you'd like that option to play: all the time, when you have an Outlook auto reply enabled or when you have an Out of Office Calendar event

When finished, click OK to save your changes and return to general Calls Settings.
