The following documentation shows the process of getting a license for OriginPro software for doing a variety of statistical analyses and data visualization.

Visit OriginLab's Website for more information and support.

This tutorial applies to the following operating system(s):

Step 1

To start the license process, choose About Origin from the OriginPro Help menu.

Step 2

When the about window opens, select the License button.

Step 3

If you don't already have a Product key, follow the link provided on cuservices.colorado.edu to go to OriginLab's Product Key Request page. If this is the first time you have tried to log in to the OriginLab site, you must select Create An Account using your colorado.edu address. Otherwise, log in using the same email address and password that you established previously.

Step 4

When logged in, click the Request button.

Step 5

A confirmation of the request will come up and a product key will be emailed to your colorado.edu address.

Step 6

Copy the Product Key in the email, and paste into the License Activation text box then click Activate.

Step 7

If successful, you'll see a confirmation. However, on campus there may be a firewall/security block that makes Auto Activation fail. If this occurs, copy the URL provided and paste into a web browser.

Step 8

This generates a special OriginLab web page displaying your very own license file. Copy the contents of the box (approximately 13-14 lines of text).

Step 9

Paste the license file in OriginPro License Activation window, where it says Enter license text below. Click OK.

Step 10

You will see a confirmation of a successful license key.
