Kubi - Local User Set Up

Use this tutorial to set up a Kubi and iPad as an on-campus or local user. For remote users attending class via Kubi, Remote User Set Up tutorial

Step

Make sure the Kubi and iPad are fully charged. The Kubi’s light will be glowing white when fully charged and plugged in.

Place the iPad into the Kubi’s holders in landscape orientation with the iPad’s volume buttons facing up.

Position the Kubi so that the red logo faces forward, and press the button on its neck to turn on the Kubi. At this point, the light on the Kubi button should be white.

Start Zoom Meeting

On the iPad, open the Zoom app. It might take a few seconds for the app to load.

In Zoom, select Meetings from the left hand side menu.

Under Upcoming Meetings and Personal Meeting ID, select Start. The Zoom meeting room will open.

Step

Connecting the Kubi to Zoom

Tap the iPad screen to wake up the Zoom controls. 

In the Zoom meeting room, select the button that says Connect Kubi or Disconnect Kubi. Select the serial number of the Kubi you are using from the list that appears (refer to the label on the back of the Kubi for the correct serial number).

Once connected, the Kubi may move to recenter itself and the light on the Kubi should turn blue. The light should be blue throughout the entire class. If the color changes, you may need to re-establish the Kubi connection by following the steps above.

Shut Down

Once class is over, tap the iPad screen to wake up the Zoom controls. Click the End Meeting link, then Leave Meeting from the dropdown that opens.

Turn off the iPad by pressing the button on the top right, and turn off the Kubi by pressing and holding its button until the light turns off.
