Desire2Learn allows for an instructor to upload feedback from a file on their computer or from feedback given within the downloaded student submission. Follow the instructions below to learn how to attach feedback files.

Feedback File Definition: There are various files types that can be uploaded when an instructor is adding feedback to a student's dropbox assignment. It is advised that the instructor use a common file type such as .PDF or a Microsoft Word File.

Step 1

Click Dropbox located on the Assessments drop-down menu.

Step 2

Click on the title of the your desired Dropbox assignment.

Step 3

Click the Add Feedback Files button.

Step 4

Upload the feedback files you wish to attach, by dragging them into the upload area or by clicking the Upload button.

Step 5

Select if you would like to Overwrite Duplicate Files, then click the Add button.

*Note: If you downloaded the student submission and gave feedback within the same document, D2L will automatically recognize the user by the unique identifying number at the beginning of the file name (as shown in the image to the left).

If you created separate feedback files, there will be an additional step where you will need to assign the file to a user.

Step 6

To publish the feedback files for student view, first check the box next to the appropriate student name(s).

Step 7

Click Publish feedback.

*Note: Feedback can also be published by assessing the student submissions.
