Overview

The following documentation shows how to upload and download files from within the Manage Files section of a D2L course (steps 1-5 reflect how to upload a file, steps 6-10 are for downloading a file). The Manage Files section can be accessed in a few different ways:

  1. Click the Edit Course link on your course navigation bar, then click the Manage Files link.
  2. If you have the Course Management widget on your homepage, click Manage Files under the Tools heading.

*Note: If you are having issues uploading files, try to remove any special characters (e.g. @, $, %, \, *) from the file name.

Step 1

Upload a File

In the Manage Files area, navigate to the folder into which you want to upload files.

Step 2

Click the Upload icon from the folder bar.

Step 3

Click Upload to locate the file that you want to upload.

*Note: D2L has trouble accepting some file types. To view a complete list of these file types please visit the Incompatible File Types page.

Step 4

Click the Upload button again to upload multiple files.

Step 5

Click Upload.

Step 6

Download a File

In the Manage Files area, locate the folder from which you want to download files.

Step 7

Select the check boxes beside the files or folders you want to download.

Step 8

Click the Download icon from the action bar.

Step 9

From the pop-up window, click the name of the ZIP file that is created.

Step 10

Use your browser’s save dialog to save the file to an appropriate location.
