The following documentation shows how to grade a quiz that was created and submitted from within Desire2Learn. This tutorial shows a quiz with a variety of questions; some that are autograded and others that are manually graded.
If you wish to enter grades for all students on a single screen please refer to the Enter Grades section of the Grades homepage. However, you will not be able to see student submissions from the single screen page.
Log into your course and from the Assessments drop-down menu and select Quizzes.
Click on the drop-down menu icon next to the quiz you need to grade and select Grade.
Double-check that your search settings are configured correctly. Make sure you are not restricting yourself to the wrong class section with the View By settings. Also, be sure to select the appropriate setting under Restrict to. If you change either of these settings, click the search button (magnifying glass) to apply them. You can leave the Search For box blank if you want to view all applicable students.
Finally, don't forget that by default only 20 students are displayed per page. Feel free to adjust the per page setting according to the size of your class.
Click the student's submission under their name, as shown to the left (most likely called attempt 1).
Review the questions to make sure they are graded accurately.
If you have a long answer, essay, or other questions that were not auto graded, you must manually assign a grade for these questions.
If you would like to give the student feedback on their response, click the Expand question feedback link and enter in your comments.
Go back to the top of the submission and enter comments in the Attempt Comments box if you wish.
Once you are finished grading the submission, mark the Graded (G) checkbox.
Click either the Save or Save and Close button. Or, click the Save button and the use the arrows in the upper-right corner of the page to switch between students.
