CUClickers - myCUinfo Roster File Download (using iclicker without a LMS)

Overview

Faculty teaching courses that appear in myCUinfo's Faculty Course Toolkit can download a CUClickers specific roster. This downloaded file must be renamed Roster.txt and placed in the specific course's folder for each course you are teaching. This document demonstrates how to download the roster from myCUinfo and place it in your folder.

Step 1

First go to your CUClickers folder and remove the LMS_Wizard.xml file from the resources folder. It doesn’t matter where you put it, as long as it’s not in the resources folder.

Step 2

Open a web browser and go to myCUinfo. Enter your CU Login Name and IdentiKey password. Then click on the Log In button.

Step 3

Within the Faculty tab, ensure the My Courses is selected, then click on the appropriate course link under the Course Number heading.

Step 4

Click on the Download CUClicker Course Roster button.

Step 5

The remaining instructions are broken down by:

    •    Windows, using Internet Explorer for demonstration (Steps 5 - 11)

    •    Macintosh, using Safari for demonstration (Steps 12 - 18)

Step 6

Windows

Open the downloaded file. When browsing for a location to save the file, go to your CUClickers software folder where you will be using this roster file. Double click to open the folder.

Step 7

Select the Classes folder.

Step 8

Click on the class that you want to connect the file to.

Step 9

Double click on Roster.txt. The File name: text field should now only say Roster.txt. Click the Save button.

Step 10

You may see a notification that says "Roster.txt already exists. Do you want to replace it?" Click the Yes button.

Step 11

Your CUConnect roster can now be used with the i>clicker gradebook.

Step 12

To be able to see and use the roster that you have put into your courses folder, you must synchronize your roster. This is done by opening i>grader and clicking the Sync button.

*Note: Before you can successfully Sync, you must have polling data in order to synchronize student names with i>clicker ID numbers.

Macintosh

Open the downloaded file. When browsing for a location to save the file, go to your CUClickers software folder where you will be using this roster file. Double click to open the folder.

Click on the Classes folder.

Click on the class that you want to connect the file to.

Double click on Roster.txt. The File name: text field should now only say Roster.txt. Click on the Save button.

You may see a notification that says "An Item named 'Roster.txt' already exists in this location. Do you want to replace it with the one you are moving?" Click the Replace button.

Step 18

Your MyCUInfo roster is can now be used with the i>clicker and i>grader programs.

Step 19

To be able to see and use the roster that you have put into your courses folder you must synchronize your roster. This is done by opening i>grader and clicking Sync.
