Last Updated: 11/22/2019

Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac is replacing ESET Endpoint Antivirus

In 2018, ESET Endpoint Antivirus became the Antivirus product for all university-owned Mac systems when Microsoft ended support for System Center Endpoint Protection. The temporary license for ESET Endpoint Antivirus is ending and OIT is transitioning all university-owned Macs to Microsoft Defender ATP by December 5.

Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac provides antivirus and antispyware protection for CU Boulder for university-owned Mac systems running a supported version of macOS through the Microsoft software campus EES agreement.

*Please note: Microsoft is supporting Defender ATP on macs running the 3 most recent versions of macOS: 10.15 (Catalina), 10.14 (Mojave), 10.13 (High Sierra). For help finding software upgrades for your mac, visit the Apple Software page.
