OIT highly recommends all mac users wait to upgrade to macOS 10.15 Catalina. Older versions of ESET are not compatible and will not receive updates to allow the applications to launch on Catalina. Before upgrading to Catalina, installing ESET 184.108.40.206 or later is required for compatibility. Learn more about the macOS 10.15 Catalina release.
Microsoft announced in November 2018 that it was discontinuing support for System Center Endpoint protection for Mac on December 31, 2018. As a result, OIT is transitioning to ESET Endpoint Antivirus as the recommended antivirus software for university-owned Mac computers.
ESET Endpoint Antivirus provides antivirus and antispyware protection for CU Boulder for university-owned Mac systems running a supported version of macOS through the Microsoft software campus EES agreement.
