Who can use Lynda.com?

Lynda.com is available to those with an affiliation on the CU Boulder Campus of Student, Staff, Officer/Professional, Faculty, POI, Auditors and Sponsored with an active IdentiKey.

How do I get a Lynda.com account?

When you log into Lynda.com for the first time, an account will be automatically created for you. Go to Lynda.colorado.edu and log in using your IdentiKey username and password.

*Note: Because Lynda.com uses CU Boulder's Federated Identity Service, when logging in you may be prompted to verify the information on your Digital ID card. For more information, visit the Federated Identity Service page. 

Where do I go to log in to the CU Boulder instance of Lynda.com?

Log in to Lynda.com at http://lynda.colorado.edu

*Note: Users should bookmark lynda.colorado.edu, rather than the URL they see when attempting to log in to CU Boulder's instance of Lynda.com. To bookmark Lynda.com, go to your browser's bookmark configuration settings and enter the URL for this service: http://lynda.colorado.edu .

Can I access Lynda.com via MyCUinfo?

Yes, faculty, staff, and students may access the CU Boulder instance of Lynda.com from MyCUinfo.

Faculty and Staff 

After logging in, click the Navigator button in the top right-hand corner of the window, then select CU Resources, Training and Lynda.com

Students 

After logging in, click Training on the right-hand side of the window, select Lynda.com then the Login to Lynda.com button.

I recently purchased a personal Lynda.com subscription. Can I get a refund?

If you already have an account, you can transfer your content and cancel your monthly subscription. If you have an individual annual subscription, contact Lynda.com support at (888) 335-9632.

I am no longer an affiliate of the University of Colorado Boulder Campus, may I continue to maintain my Lynda.com account?

Lynda.com is extended to active CU Boulder faculty, staff, students, and affiliates with an active IdentiKey. This includes those with an affiliation on the CU Boulder Campus of Student, Staff, Officer/Professional, Faculty, POI, Auditors and Sponsored, however, a subscription can be acquired for a fee. Information about Lynda.com subscriptions can be found on the Lynda.com website.

*Note: When setting up your Lynda.com subscription you will need to use an email address other than your colorado.edu email address.

Do I need to be on campus to access courses?

No. All Lynda.com materials are available from both on-campus and off-campus.

Can I use Lynda.com with a mobile device?

Yes, Lynda.com is available on Android and iOS mobile devices, and you can sync accounts across all devices used. Visit the Lynda.com Help page for more information.

How do I login to the Lynda.com App?

Refer to Lynda.com Help for specific information about logging in to different apps. Be sure to log in under CU Boulder's instance by doing the following: 

  • After opening the app, select Already a member
  • Click the Organization tab
  • Scroll down to the Web Portal section and enter lynda.colorado.edu
  • Click the Login button
  • You will be routed to the University of Colorado Federated Identity page where you will be directed to enter your IdentiKey credentials.
  • After logging in, the app will open your home page.
What happens to my Lynda.com records and account when I no longer have an affiliation of faculty, student, or staff?

A user who leaves CU Boulder and no longer has an affiliation of faculty, staff, or student will not be able to log into Lynda.com using their CU Boulder account. They can, however, call Lynda.com's Customer Service (888-335-9632) and ask to have their usage history transferred into a new account they sign up for (and presumably pay for) on their own.

What are the system requirements for using Lynda.com?

To watch videos on Lynda.com you must be connected to the Internet. Lynda.com recommends a 3G, 4G or Wi-Fi connection for optimal mobile viewing. A complete accounting of system requirements can be found on the Lynda.com website.

Is there a way to adjust the Lynda.com course content to an alternative Language then English?

Lynda.com content is only offered in English. Most courses have transcripts and those maybe copied to google translate or similar applications.
