During the spring 2015 semester, OIT will start a new project to address the effective delivery of online exams. The project will determine campus needs including exam security, infrastructure, and logistics, and will include the evaluation of solutions that fit our specific needs. In the meantime, we encourage you to review the pedagogical and technical guidance provided below.
These help documents provide suggestions for implementing online exams using D2L Quizzes both in-class and outside of class. Throughout the document we refer to relevant D2L Quiz settings and provide specific steps or references to appropriate D2L tutorials.
A lot of information in these tutorials comes from OIT's partnership with Dr. Suzanne Nelson from the Integrative Physiology Department in piloting online exams. Dr. Nelson has been using online exams in her 400-student class for several semesters.
If you need further assistance with setting up online exams, contact OIT's Academic Technology Design Team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
