‘Accessible’ means a person with a disability is afforded the opportunity to acquire the same information, engage in the same interactions, and enjoy the same services as a person without a disability in an equally effective and equally inclusive manner, with substantially equivalent ease of use.
All of the course lecture videos available in Coursera are closed captioned. Should learners identify issues with the accuracy and/or completeness of a video’s captions, they can report the issue using the flag icon or submit a support ticket. Learners can also download a transcript of the videos.
Learners can also submit a request for accommodations. In the request, they should indicate what modification they would like, and which course(s) the accommodation is for.
Coursera has indicated that they regularly audit both their website and mobile application. OIT will be working with CU Boulder’s Accessibility and Usability Lab to test the accessibility of Coursera. We will work with Coursera to resolve any issues that are found, and will update this page as additional information becomes available.
