What is Coursera?
Coursera is an online learning destination offering scaled online courses, specializations, and degrees.
How to get it
Enroll in individual, non-credit courses or specializations (a series of courses designed to help you master a specific skill) to earn Course and Specialization Certificates. Complete courses at your own pace whether you are a CU Student, faculty or staff member, or not affiliated with CU.
Students, Faculty, and Staff
- Visit the Coursera website and click Join for Free to create an account.
- Click Log in with University of Colorado.
- Go to CU on Coursera’s page and browse courses taught by faculty across the CU system.
- Enroll in any course or specialization that interests you at no cost. Complete the course or specialization to earn a shareable certificate of achievement.
Non-affiliates
- Sign up for a Coursera account.
- Visit CU Boulder’s Coursera page to discover courses taught by CU Boulder faculty.
- Enroll in any course or specialization that interests you. Audit a course for free or subscribe to a course or specialization to earn a shareable certificate of achievement.
Degree Programs
- The University of Colorado Boulder offers a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree program delivered online through the Coursera platform. Learn more about the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- Additionally, CU Boulder offers a Master of Science in Data Science. Request information or enroll in the Master of Science in Data Science program.

How to get support
Students can visit Coursera’s Learner Help Center to browse help articles and find answers to common questions.
Students enrolled in the Master of Science in Electrical Engineering program or any of its affiliated for-credit courses should use the program support email msee-support@colorado.edu for all questions about the Coursera platform, course content, academic advising, and enrollment and payment.
Instructors and course content creators can access help articles and submit requests for support directly to Coursera through Coursera’s Partner Help Center.
