Computing Labs - Request Changes in Existing Labs

OIT maintains over sixty computing facilities on the Boulder campus. In order to provide effective technical support and maintenance, and to remain responsive to changing needs, the following guidelines have been established.

  • To make the labs as useful as possible, departments that utilize OIT labs should designate one person from their faculty or staff to serve as lab liaison to OIT. This person will fill two important roles by aggregating upgrade requests from instructors and presenting them to OIT and relaying information from OIT concerning the labs to the lab users.
  • The lab liaison should create a schedule for each lab at the start of each semester and make the appropriate scheduling requests using the Lab Reservation Request page as scheduled access provides priority usage of the lab.
  • All requests for changes to a lab or to the software loadset in a lab should be directed to OIT through the lab liaison before the request deadline for the semester in which such changes are wanted, typically 6-8 weeks before the end of the current semester.
