D2L - Courses

Last Updated: 01/08/2019

Desire2Learn will no longer be available after the Spring 2019 semester. Learn more about Canvas, CU Boulder's new learning management system.

Two types of courses can be created in Desire2Learn:

  • Official CU Boulder courses that are for credit and non-credit.
  • Community courses that are not connected to an official CU Boulder course.

Official CU Boulder Courses in D2L

Faculty can create courses within D2L for Official CU Boulder courses that are for credit and non-credit. Once created, the course will be available immediately to the instructor.

Create a Course

Log in to MyCUInfo and use the Quick Create Course tutorial for assistance with course creation.

Once created, your course will be blank; however, you can copy course content into a new course from current and past Desire2Learn courses. Copying course content yourself gives you control over what content is placed in your course and how it is organized.

Request Course Changes

Log in to MyCUInfo and use the Request Course Changes tutorial for assistance with submitting a request. After submitting the form, course changes will be completed within 2 business days.

Community Courses

Community courses can be used for orientations, trainings, workshops or any other activity that could benefit from having an online group space. Faculty, Staff and Recognized Student Organizations can request a community course, and any CU Boulder affiliate with an IdentiKey can participate in a community course. Complete the Community Course Request Form to get started.
