Canvas - Student Support

CU Boulder is in the process of adopting a new learning management system called Canvas. Although Canvas will be replacing Desire2Learn (D2L), D2L will still be available through spring 2019. During the migration, some courses may be on D2L, and some may be on Canvas. Other courses may not use D2L or Canvas at all. This web page provides information to help students during the transition from D2L, and provide helpful information to help them make the most out of Canvas.

Access your Canvas Courses

  1. Go to
  2. Login with your CU Login Name and IdentiKey password.
  3. Your courses will appear on the Canvas dashboard.

Don’t see a course?

  1. Your instructor may be using D2L. Go to D2L to see if your course is available there.
  2. Your instructor may not have the course set up on Canvas (or D2L). Speak with your instructor about which site they will be using and when it will be available.

Mobile App

Download the Canvas Student App to view your courses and grades, submit assignments, take quizzes, and participate in your course in a number of other ways. Visit the Canvas - Mobile Apps page for additional information.
