Last Updated: 09/06/2016

Software Not Supported

CU Boulder no longer supports the encrypted telnet and FTP terminal session tool, SSH Secure Shell, for Windows, having found security vulnerabilities in the product. Due to the ending support, OIT will no longer provide the software for campus affiliates.

Alternative Software

There are a number of alternative software applications that provide functionality similar to SSH Secure Shell. A few of these include:

  • PuTTY: An open source SSH and telnet client for Windows.
  • Bitvise: An SSH and SFTP client for Windows.
  • CyberDuck: FTP, SFTP, WebDAV, S3 & OpenStack Swift browser for Mac and Windows.
