Troubleshooting for Remote Users
Missing Kubi arrow trackpad in Zoom
Normally when you are connected to the Kubi in Zoom you will see the arrow trackpad at the bottom right corner. If you are connected to the Kubi in Zoom but have not seen the arrow trackpad, you may need to turn off other Bluetooth devices nearby and disconnect from all peripheral devices (e.g., external monitors).
Losing access to Kubi arrow trackpad in Zoom
Normally when you are connected to the Kubi in Zoom you will see the arrow trackpad at the bottom right corner. Follow the steps below if you initially had access to the arrow trackpad in Zoom and it no longer shows up.
In Zoom, you may need to toggle the Gallery/Speaker View or the Unpin/Pin Video buttons to get the arrow trackpad to reappear.
You may need to select Disconnect Kubi and then select Connect Kubi again.
Losing control of the Kubi
Normally when you are connected to the Kubi in Zoom you will see the arrow trackpad at the bottom right corner. In addition to this arrow trackpad, you can use your keyboard arrows to control the Kubi. The following scenarios may disrupt the functionality of the arrow trackpad and your keyboard arrows.
- Using another application on your computer (e.g. an Internet browser or Zoom’s chat function) may require you to click back in to the Zoom meeting to regain control of the Kubi.
- If a participant in the Zoom meeting enables their Share Screen function, you may need to select Swap Shared Screen with Video at the top right to regain control of the Kubi.
Joining a Zoom breakout room
Zoom breakout rooms create groups of participants in a Zoom meeting. If you are controlling a Kubi in Zoom and join a breakout room, you will need to select Connect Kubi again to be visible on the Kubi’s iPad in the classroom.
Troubleshooting for Local Users
Trouble accessing the iPad’s Zoom app
If you experience significant delays with getting the Zoom app to load on the Kubi’s iPad, you may see a notification that the network connection has timed out.
First, verify that you are connected to campus wireless. Open Settings on the iPad and select Wi-Fi from the menu on the left.
If the iPad is successfully connected to wireless, return to the Zoom app and verify that the iPad is signed in to the Kubi’s Zoom account. Select Settings at the bottom of the menu on the left. The Kubi’s account and profile picture should be displayed at the top of the menu that pops up.
Connecting the Kubi’s Zoom meeting to class presentations
An instructor may wish to share their class presentations with the remote Kubi student via the Zoom meeting. If an instructor joins the same Zoom meeting as the Kubi and remote student and is using a centralized classroom audio system, the instructor should Disconnect Audio within Zoom on their computer.
Select the arrow to the right of the mic icon on the bottom menu, then select Audio Options.
Select Leave Computer Audio
