Tarah Dykeman

Originally from Germany, Tarah (she/her) received a BA in international studies from the University of North Texas in 2014 and a MA in English literature from CU Boulder in 2018.

When Tarah started her MA at CU Boulder she joined OIT’s Academic Technology Design Team as a Learning Experience Design Graduate Assistant. In that position, Tarah conducted discovery work on the student experience in large lecture courses on campus and supported other projects, including the Kubi Pilot and the Pathway to Space Course Design.

Today, Tarah is a User Experience Researcher & Content Strategist with OIT’s User Experience Research & Design (UXRD) team, where she works with users of university tools and systems. Tarah collaborates with students and leads UX writing efforts to help guide the development of the new student portal, Buff Portal. She cares about creating good user experiences that help remove barriers to education. Tarah presented this UX research and writing work at the Button conference in October 2020.

Outside of work, Tarah enjoys learning how to garden, building legos, and watching movies.

Tarah supports undocumented students, staff, and their families.
