Paola Solorzano Bravo

A Colorado native, Paola (she/her/hers) is pursuing a B.S. in Creative Technology and Design at the University of Colorado Boulder. Paola joined OIT’s User Experience Research & Design (UXRD) team as a Student Assistant UX Writer and Researcher in May of 2022. In that position, she works with students and assists content creation as well as UX research to support the development and improvement of Buff Portal. Her favorite thing about working on the team is that she gets to work directly with students and different offices across the university to improve the student and user experience at CU Boulder!

Paola’s interests and passions with UX stem from her participation in Design for America (DFA), a student-led organization dedicated to creating awareness of design thinking and human-centered design through working on various projects in the community. Paola has been involved with DFA since 2020, first as a project member and then as a project co-lead.

With DFA, Paola’s team collaborated with Boulder County Transportation Services to create an informational poster to help increase awareness of the options and benefits of public transportation services to the residents of Kestrel Housing in Louisville, CO. Prior to that, Paola was involved in a DFA project working alongside Buff Portal to better understand the challenges and opportunities with CU’s online advising tools.

In the spring of 2022, Paola had the opportunity to co-lead a project working in conjunction with Greenhouse Scholars conducting research to gather student feedback to inform improvements to the scholars’ professional development modules.

Outside of work and academics, Paola enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, playing board games, and reading.

Paola supports undocumented students, staff, and their families.
