User Experience Internship Program

Last Updated: 12/13/2016

The purpose of the user experience internship program is to provide undergraduate students with the opportunity to learn and develop valuable user experience skills and apply them to real efforts that impact student success on the CU Boulder campus.

In addition to students learning, developing, and applying user experience skills, the organization (OIT) will benefit with having resources to collect and analyze rich data about the student experience on efforts that align with the student retention strategic goal and efforts that impact student success.

Responsibilities of the interns include:

  • Helping in designing and conduct user-experience activities and assessments (e.g., usability testings, focus groups, surveys, heuristics evaluations, card sorts, observational studies, etc…).
  • Working with team members to analyze and report on the findings from the user-experience activities and assessments and make design recommendations.
  • Working with team members to identify user needs, pain points, and goals.
  • Working with team members to develop user personas, scenarios, and journey maps.
