Emrys Baldonado is pursuing a M.S. in Creative Technologies and Design at the University of Colorado Boulder. They received a B.A. in Psychology with a concentration of Cognitive Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz. There, they assisted in research with human-robot interaction, human-computer interaction, and user experience with popular social media applications. In 2021, Emrys joined the ATDT as a User Experience Researcher for the campus wide Unified Student Experience project. They develop user testing experiences, collect user-centered data, and synthesize information to uncover and then share out student needs and then to work with students to design a solution. Emrys’ user experience research work supports improvements to the student experience in CU’s student portal, Buff Portal, and other campus tools.

Emrys' research interests include how information communication technology affects social development, developing social robots, and data-driven storytelling.

Outside of work, Emrys goes to comic book conventions, plays board games, camps, and hikes with their dog.
