Google’s shared file service, Team Drives, is getting a new name: Shared Drives. This change will not impact Team Drives functionality, but if you use Google File Stream it may require you to update settings on your devices and change file paths for links, shortcuts, scripts and the like. The change is expected to roll out first to iOS and Android app users starting the week of May 21 and follow with web interface users starting May 31. Starting on June 3, the naming convention for newly requested Shared Drives will be DeptAbbreviation-SD-SharedDriveName (e.g. OIT-SD-FinanceTeam). Existing Shared Drive names will be updated to reflect this change over the following weeks.
