Network switches across campus will be upgraded over the course of 18 months as part of a normal life-cycle replacement schedule.

Replacement Process Description

OIT will upgrade network switches across campus as part of a normal life-cycle replacement schedule. As buildings across campus are scheduled for replacement, they will be added to the Scheduled Switch Replacements spreadsheet below. 

The replacements will take place on a building-by-building basis from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on business days by OIT staff. This will cause network outages, for both wired and Wi-Fi networks, including Cisco VoIP phones, from 30 minutes to 160 minutes, based on the number of switches being replaced.

*Please note: Ordering new or changing existing network services will be frozen for two weeks prior to a building’s switch replacements in order to ensure service continuity.
